Mr. Brian wrote:"Echo & The Bunnymen" as a band has not written a song since 1997. Evergreen lists "All tracks written by Echo & the Bunnymen" that was the last time. It's been just Mac or Mac/Will ever since. Mac gave Will some credit on Flowers and Siberia but that's about it.

Both Flowers and Siberia credit all songs to both Mac and Will. Of course that does not mean they came with them as a tandem, but they agreed in sharing credits for a reason (i.e. enough input by Will). That hasn't been the case the last two albums.

Right, wasn't Flowers supposed to be Will's baby and the Siberia was supposed to be a return to collaboration? My point really was, they haven't written or credited songs as a band since 1997.

Even then I have my doubts. I think the last song they actually wrote together was Bring On The Dancing Horses. Or maybe some on the gray album.

I doubt the main players could stand being in the same room with one another to attempt to write the songs for Evergreen. They just reverted to past practice for the songwriting credits.

Mac and Will had been working together for a few years as Electrafixion. I thought they all got along pretty well for Evergreen until they started planning for the next album when Will and Les got pushed aside.

Last one wrote together? My guess is Flowers as a whole. With Siberia aparently both took demos to the studio (Will's being Parthenon and Scissors, Mac's the rest). With Evergreen I think Mac already had NLF from the sessions with Marr, and Forgiven, at least. Evergreen era b-sides sound like they were wrote while jamming as a 4-piece. Good old days.

wasn't flowers an overcompensation for waygtdwyl? to make the otherman (i hear he's now called 'will', is this because he's been in the band for atleast two years now?) feel more involved. if siberia was a return to collaboration after the two personality heavy previous albums then i think it was a success. of the three siberia is the better album

Siberia could have been a great album. Almost every song has great moments (except Parthenon Drive) and All Because of You Days is a beautiful song especially the last few minutes. Of a Life is half a great song and I love how the album ends with a vulnerable sounding Mac musing if he's hit rock bottom. Missed opportunity but still my favorite post 97 album by a long shot.

With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
