cave & co at the Hammersmith Apollo last night, one word, absolutely awesome, and that's not a word I throw around lightly. Fairly heavy on the new album (fancy that pop pickers), plus the standards - stagger lee, mercy seat etc and the rest a career spanning set - the bits of the career I know anyways. Good stuff. Interesting lighting in that there's side spots so when he goes off to the side and does the creepy spider crawl thing down at the front there's shadows akin to nosferatu up the side of the stage - I know, I should have been a journo such are the power of my words. And merch? tee shirts sporting a sketch of the old bloke himself sans clothes. You see, perhaps the gaga approach works for ye olde pop stars too.
