Imagine Ian Singing . . .

Postby withahip » Fri Oct 26, 2007 7:55 pm

More than 20 acts from 40 years of Liverpool pop will appear on the Number 1 Project record due for release in January. Shack performs Day Tripper, The Farm will record Searchers' classic Needles and Pins, and organisers are hoping Echo and the Bunnymen frontman Ian McCulloch will sing Imagine. Atomic Kitten will tackle Cilla Black's Anyone Who Had a Heart, The Icicle Works will perform John Lennon's Woman, and the Towers of London will take on Beatles classic Get Back.

Shack will be great doing Day Tripper (or any Beatles song). I'm sure Ian will do Imagine very well, its not my favorite and the lyrics are so anti-Ian. I don't think he believes in nothingness.

Imagining that religion, country borders and possessions, the base cause of all war, were nonexistent is believing in nothingness? :?

I liked Watching The Wheels. And then he was dead. It's still very sad.

Does everyone remember where they were when they found out Lennon was dead?

Yep. Heard about it in the hallway freshman year of high school. My first thought was now the Beatles can't get back together.

That song is a total denial of human nature going back to the existance of man on the planet. A few decades of self-indulgence isn't going to change the world all that much.

Maybe, but that's not believing in nothingness. The songs is pure idealism. It is called Imagine after all.

I can't take all this conflict. Please resign my account.
