They should re-issue the Mac mix tape that black francis has stuck in the cassette deck of his truck.

It's nice that they are making them available since some of those older EPs can't be found anymore. Especially these two rarities only available previously on a Cohen tribute CD. There Is A War was only on the promo version of the CD. I think I got a copy off Napster a long time ago.

17. Hey, That s No Way to Say Goodbye
18. There Is A War

It's like the tape from The Ring. You have to get someone else to listen to it or you die a horrible death.

More reissues? I've already bought Candleland and Mysterio twice. I'm not gonna be riped off and what's happened to Mac's latest solo album?

I bet they got George Lucas to do all the reissues :) Mac should also use the same marketing people.

Way to KoK it up, Jimbo!

Here's my comment on the OTHER thread about these reissues.

http://forum.villiersterrace.com/viewtopic.php?t=4242

Ivan wrote:This is one step beyond Rhino and Warner Special Products. Looks like Mac's catalogue has been written off and sold to a bargain bin reissue house.

Edsel

Edsel is one of the longest-established re-issue labels in the world, with a large catalogue of rock, soul, R&B, psychedelia, country, blues, folk and soundtracks.

It is the home of the classic catalogues of Marc Bolan and T.Rex, Ian Dury and the Blockheads, Al Green, Gillan, John Foxx, Michael Nesmith, and the Philadelphia International Records label (Teddy Pendergrass, The O’Jays, Lou Rawls, the Jones Girls, etc.)

All our releases are put together by experts for the serious fan and casual browser alike. Original albums are repackaged with booklet notes, photos and bonus tracks.

Have to say I have a few Edsel reissues and they are usually well packaged, good sleeve notes and usually well remastered.... Just noticed they are doing an Aztec Camera reissue of all their albums I will certainly be investing in a couple of them.....

Clearly not enough Faith and Healing re-mixes.

Funny. Faith and Healing is my favorite Mac solo song. Unfortunately it's not one of the songs on the Mac mix CD still stuck in my truck.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

they must have thought that was going to be the big one when Proud to Fall turned out to be the hit. Interesting note about Proud To Fall. It went to #1 on the new "Modern Rock Charts", making it the only #1 Bunnymen-related single from any chart.

To be fair, you can't really compare the UK, US and Modern Rock Charts. I just thought it was interesting that this was the only time a Bunnyman saw #1. But it means that the song was getting lots of airplay. The Modern Rock Chart rankings are based solely on radio airplay vs sales for Billboard, US and UK charts.

I didn't know that charted that high.

Looking at the tracklisting there are some pretty good B-sides from the Candleland era.

I didn't pay enough attention to the bonus tracks to Mysterio.
'History chimes' ??

I didn't know there was another (early) version of this (Bunnymen) song !
Does anyone know where it came from, is that a bside or some rare to find extra-track ?
