Bruce Foxton

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Pledgemusic has an album by old focton himself. May possibly be interesting. Also seems his reconciliation with Weller is complete - well as complete as it i sever likely to be:
First and foremost, the band, Russell Hastings & Mark Brzezicki, both very dear friends and fantastic players, we’ve had a ball recording together.
Also on the album are Paul Weller & Steve Cropper! It was such a pleasure to work and hang out with Paul again. Then there’s the equally-legendary Steve
Cropper. What an honour to have them both play on the album. I’m so proud of this record and hope you enjoy it.
Though i heard he'd fallen out with buckler (or maybe the other way around) concerning 'with the jam', probably the most awful name ever for a tribute band, as it were, that include two thirds of the band. Haven't listened to the samples yet.

Chesney.

Brzezicki a top drummer imho, never heard of the other bloke I dont think

sounds a bit like weller, ha ha, though interesting enough.

Things you can still pledge for.... a round of golf with bruce and russel hastings, 300 quid (its like punk never died) and "Bruce’s own Ampeg SVT Bass Amp and 8×10 cab! You’ll have to come and collect it, most probably from the Northampton area of the UK. Beware, this is a heavy piece of equipment! Also, while the amp and cab will be in working order at point of sale, but we can’t offer any future guarantee or warranty", a snip at 2K. Backstage passes and suchlike all gone!!

I thought they were a bit disappointing - seen two or three Jam tribute bands and they all suffer from the same thing - the singer, i.e., not sounding like they're a bit cross whilst singing, so the songs lose their edge. Though the last one I saw had a lady dummer wearing a geri halliwel union jack dress, very interesting, though I doubt you'd get buckler in one of those.

What's depressing Mr B? The fact that foxton's doing some original music? You dont have to buy it you know (unless youre VB) - or the fact that he's trying to flog his bass cabinet? And its kind of cute that paul and bruce are chums again.

The Pledge stuff seems like begging and the only experience I have with it is the Mac solo stuff that didn't go so well, the selling of his bass cab, the fact he was in the Jam AND in a cover band of his own band. I guess you have to make a living and it beats waiting tables.

I just loved The Jam so much. I guess it is good he is doing original music and patched things up. Maybe I focused on the negative too much. Go figure.

yeah the 'from the jam' thig was a bit iffy I htink. Though he' been playing with stiff little fingers for years. As for PLedge, its a way to get a record out. Done well for the sarge.

He looks like he could be related to Eric Roberts in that album photo.
