I hate watching U2 documentaries. I only watched until Larry Mullen came on the screen. I used to think he was hot when I was young and naive.

I absolutely love watching U2 documentaries. Saw that one on making Achtung Baby on TV recently. Funny, cause I have been listening again to Achtung Baby since the new year.
It's a good album. Even thinking of watching them live (again), but I haven't decided.

Larry was hot way back when, and he's even hotter now.

It is ok. They must not have filmed much then, because now there is a lot of standing around in the present playing the songs.

I did enjoy that Joshua Tree doc on the making of the album. I saw that on VH1 a couple, of years ago.

I like the part when Lanois and Bono are listening to some tapes and Bono starts to talk and Lanois gently tells him to shut up and listen.

I watched that whole series on the "Classic Albums" that VH1 ran. I love it when they start playing with the faders on the mixing desk or play the demo mixes. It really shows the power of the engineers and producers and how different some of those tracks might have turned out if someone had been sitting there.

I should probably point out that I'm basing my opinion on the last "documentary" I saw. I purchased the special edition "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" CD several years ago now, which included a DVD documentary on the making of the album. Edge spent fucking TWENTY GODDAMN MINUTES talking about how ingenious the guitar riff is in "Vertigo". The rest of the documentary was pretty boring as well. Needless to say, I'm now deathly afraid of watching these clips after seeing that.

And I think I listened to the CD once; it currently languishes on the shelf in the living room.

Well, Joshua Tree was pretty much it for me - a couple songs like Vertigo, Discotechque and a cover of Slow Dancing caught my ear thereafter.

I am surprised the Edge talked about how amazing his guitar riff is. He admits he is a total hack.

He looked embarassed to be sitting with Jack White and that Zeppelin guy Page in It Might Get Loud. Actually, I was embarassed for him. When they play together, you can see his lips continually saying, "I don't know that chord, or that one, or that one."

I bought the album against my better judgment--I don't like any U2 post Joshua Tree, myself. I remember thinking when Achtung Baby came out, What the fuck is this?!
