Ian McCulloch on new Manics album

Postby In The Margins » Fri Jun 25, 2010 9:31 am

It's been confirmed via Official EATB twitter.

http://www.digitalspy.com/music/news/a2 ... cs-lp.html

Manic Street Preachers have hinted that Ian McCulloch and John Cale may feature on their upcoming album.

In a post on their official website, the Welsh band suggested that the Echo & The Bunnymen singer and the former Velvet Underground viola legend had added their parts to the previously-announced Postcards From A Young Man.

The statement read: "Magical day in Cardiff: Ian McCulloch singing duet & John Cale playing on a new Manics track in LA."

Another reason not to buy a Manic's album.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

Not that another reason was needed.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Does Peter do the Twitter and the forum? Or is there no communication between the people that do?

I only just read this thread. Christ, Manic Street Preachers this time. One of my most hated bands ever.

At least Mac isn't doing a duet with Nouvelle Vague. That would be embarrassing.

True. Having said that, I'd rather Mac collaborated with Nouvelle Vague than some mainstream teenybop girl or boy band. Just imagine how awful it would have been if Mac had collaborated with the All Saints or especially the Spice Girls. What about a boy band? I'm thinking Westlife, Five or, god forbid, Take That. Imagine if it had been that little one in Take That that all the girls and boys fancied. What's his name? Mark Owen. No doubt, it'd then would have led Mac to choose a boy band producer on his next album. Thank god none of this came to pass.

All of the above is definitely embarrassing but association with the MSPs is a new low.

I'm not sure how many people even know who the MSP's are in America. I remember reading an article about them years back in Mojo or some English magazine and they came across as douchebags, right down to the stupid clothes they'd wear on stage.

I've gotta say I'm starting to hate Mac. Not really as a person, since I don't know him personally, but definitely as a musician and what's he doing to the Bunnymen name. Pretty startling and embarrassing the misguided lengths this guy goes for in quest of fame.

What was their biggest hit? I've heard the name, but the rest means nothing to me.

Same here.

Maybe this is more career advice from the baby mama.

Keep it like that. They're Spinal Tap - in a bad way.
