Will the real Ian McCulloch please stand up?

I have to say there is something about the keyboards on NLF that has a sickly sweet sentimentality similar to "burn for me" rather than their original honest poignancy.
To my mind, like some great wounded buffalo, it's the first time they faltered in their magnificence-though the rest of Evergreen was excellent-even "don't let it get you down" or "what if we are" work better.

To paraphrase Les, didn't he say something like "one day Mac could be a total genius, and your best friend, the next day he could be a total turd. making fun of you b/c you couldn't pronounce a word he could when he was like 6".......something along those lines. It is amazing, everyone's looks change as they age, but he does seem like quite a different person compared to early interviews. Time marches on, sometimes not for the better.

Les still looks pretty good from what I saw at Static.
But, maybe that level of honesty was why they wouldn't let him do interviews. He gave a great one to Incendiary Mag where he really spoke from his heart. But yeah, he definitely said something like that.
I long for the pork of Porcupine. (A slide show dedicated mostly to Will right here.... http://www.examiner.com/rock-music-in-l ... -here-tour)
