Soundgarden Reunion Show

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Soundgarden Reunion Show

Postby Frank The Bunny » Mon Apr 19, 2010 9:29 am

Soundgarden played a semi-secret public "rehearsal" at Seattle's Showbox Friday night, billed as Nudedragons.

I wasn't one of the lucky few to witness their triumphant return. Thank God for the Internet! I've found, downloaded, tagged, created artwork for & uploaded the audio for your listening pleasure

I saw them once in a bar in Syracuse. Must have been around '90-'91 time frame. I remember lots of head bobbing.

(1) Did you record it yourself?
(2) If you didn't have permission, will they set their lawyer on you for file-sharing?
(3) I am on slow dial-up. Can you tell me which the most impressive songs are?
(4) Can you describe them in terms of other bands I might actually have heard of?
(5) I know someone who does better intros. I hope this isn't a waste of drive space.
(6) Assuming I'm not cut off whilst downloading, will they set their lawyer on me?

1 no. I was unable to get tickets, as I was working when they were announced & went on sale. I was lucky enough to find this on dimeadozen
2 I dunno. I'm sure many gigs have been booted in the past.
3 You may have heard Spoonman, Rusty Cage (Johnny Cash did a cover of it), Fell on Black Days, Pretty Noose, Outshined,
4 I don't know what other bands you've heard. I can say that when there was talk of a Led Zeppelin reunion tour without Robert Plant, Chris Cornell was on the shortlist. He's got the screams fo' sho'.
5 I don't know what that means. If you do download it and don't like it, you can always delete it
6 I can't be held responsible for your actions. If on your slow dialup you are able to watch YouTube videos, search "soundgarden 2010". You should find these same audio tracks accompanied by still photos.

Yes, the You-Tube route is more sensible, because they allow you to restart if you are cut off, and it seems to download faster in any case. I tried the site you mentioned, after 25 minutes got to 99% and then the click of doom signalled that I was cut off.
As for my caution on file sharing, since the legal-penal system is the only "industry" left in the English speaking world, with packs of legal predators looking to ruin innocent people, it is only sensible to be careful. Though I think mass illegal uploading of proper albums rather than otherwise unavailable material is wrong.
If the great Johny Cash did a cover of any of their songs, they must be worth checking out.

I refuse to believe Dr. Evil is on dial-up. No way, no how.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

High definition cameras or hiring entire movie crews don't come cheap, so something had to give. Until I beat the lotto with my predictor that is.
