meeting the band

General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

I haven't really checked out much of The Crimea, but The Crocketts were a very very good live band. Got good press reviews at the time, but never caught on with the old general public.

Sometimes bands like meeting us little folk. Can you imagine hanging round with record company and PR types for 4 months, broken only by bad tempered sound people? It depends which band (Gnomic bastard today arent I?)

Bands are bands, and a lot of them are self regarding nobbers mind. Will's brilliant tho'. Open minded and forward thinking. BSP are too, but a leetle mad.

Happy new year by the way

I met Will briefly, he rather cooly seemed like no one should want to know him just for being a musician even though he was / is a world famous guitarist.

I wouldn't particularly want to meet McCulloch though, he strikes me as a very judgemental man, some of the stuff he's said in interviews is fucking pathetic, although some of it's hilarious too of course.
It wouldn't work if Mac was a slaphead would it.

I've made the effort to meet the band for the simple purpose of personally thanking them for what I thought was an amazing, personally uplifting performance. And to get an autograph if I can. Gordy is the most approachable and willing to share bits of news with regard to happenings within the band. Dave Wakling of the English Beat makes the effort to meet the fans in the audience, showing his appreciation and thanking them for their support. I really appreciate that effort and it builds a stronger connection between us. That's maybe what it is for me, a bonding that takes the whole experience to another level. Like others in this thread, I also struggle with what to say that won't make me sound like a fool while in the presence of "gods."
