Who wrote Mac's book?

Forgive me if this has already been discussed here, but I think Julian Cope has a point...

"I gots to tell y’all that when I heard the other day that the Bunnymen’s Ian McCulloch is writing his autobiography, I nearly shat my undies laughing so hard (good job I don’t wear any!); Ian Mac write a book? A man for whom completing a single song on his own is a struggle of Everest the Hard Way proportions is hardly going to write a book. Ian, I’m speechless at your continued arrogance in the face of no evidence whatsoever. In my opinion, you’ve been a dried-up shell of a husk of a man since just after OCEAN RAIN, so don’t embarrass us all with your ludicrous claims that you’re gonna write an autobiography. Two words… No Way. Writing a book involves discipline and hard work, two things you never nailed in the past and never will. As I heard it, you even said in the press that your book will be better than the Bible. Well, in two ways it may well be like the Bible: 1) it’ll be full of half-truths and outright lies, and 2) it’ll have been written by umpteen uncredited writers and you’ll name yourself solely as its author. There you go, dumkopf, I just handed you the map: don’t even bother buying yourself a pen, son; just do what you’ve always done throughout your career; get someone else to do most of the work then claim all the credit yourself. I even have a title already: MAC USER. And with that, I shall sweep off into the Beltane sunset. Yowzah!"

maybe he does. but before he came out with head on who'd have thought the brain sizzled tosspot that cope was and (with regards to the latter at least) still is would have managed to write two mighty tomes followed by the even bigger doorstop that is the one abut the circle thingies. so maybe this is the making of mac. oh and the fact that both he and the missus have to make a point (on the internet mind, not like, in the real newspapers and stuff) about what mac and what he was like thirty years ago says just as much about them (yeah i know and mac's really good about the ddrawing a line i the sand thing, I know). Copes lucky enough to have found a niche with just enough people whio like it to pay the mortgage and where he's clever/intelligent or just sensible is realising that having fouind it he has had to apply some labour. still a tosspot though, with his scary little hats and stuff. woooo.

Mac may have laid claim to music other members came up with and he may be lazy, but Reverberation is proof that anything Mac sang on with EATB is an integral part of the songs. His melodies define the songs as much as the instrumentation. If anything, I believe the vocals and his execution of them define EATB equally and are integral to the music. I hold singers in the highest regard of what makes a pop song recording what it is. I may be one of the biggest critics of the duo's recent output, but I would never consider Mac's contribution to EATB as anything less than paramount.

In other words, if Mac has a ghostwriter to articulate or transcribe and make coherent Mac's story, so be it. The book is legit in my eyes. Give it a rest Cope. Your gripe is tedious.

Any professional jealousy? Um, perhaps. Any history of pointed barbs? Why, yes, yes there are lots of pointed barbs throughout Head On, some of which are funny. His intelligence is sometimes apparent in his own books, but more often than not he paints himself as a drugged out hippe fucktard. He amuses me and yet I loathe him. I hated him through most of his book and was just hoping for something more about the Bunnymen as those were the best parts.
Copey always has a point...
But my point is that Copey's an asshole. YOWSAH! (Who fucking says that anymore??? I'm going to have to find my friend's mother's Chic record.)

The book is all original material -- knock knock jokes that no one can understand that have been proofread by webmaster Peter.

Is this thing still being released? Amazon still has the release date as May 13, but (as usual) there's no mention of it on BOM or BOW (Bunnymen official website).

Speaking of BOW, did everybody vote like they were told to via Twitter? It's very important that BOW win an award. They've been trying to win one for years.

Speaking of BOF, did bunnyboy take his ratings and youtube videos and go home? YAY!

Now a book by Will would be something interesting. He could have sections on gear, touring, his record collection/selections, dealing with Mac, making his own music . . . .
