Look who else is playing Coachella the same day ... PiL and the Specials. I don't know if that's enough to get me to go out there ... April in the desert.

Okay if it were Bunnymen, Pavement, Girls, Faith No More, Mew, Band of Skulls, Gary Numan, Deerhunter and Muse on the same day I could find my way out for one last Coachella adventure. Even then I would need friends to force me to leave the hotel swimming pool in time for the show.

And even then I would bitch the whole evening.

God I hate Coachella.

There are some good bands playing!

Why does Thom Yorke have question marks after the name? Or is there a band called that and I'm an out of touch geezer?

Not confirmed maybe?

Well that's what I thought but it seems weird to put it on a poster. The Thom Yorke Underground forum is probably going nuts over that one.

or maybe it's a "band to be named later"? either way, it's enigmatic and silly.

My hope is that some of the bands play those not-so-secret pre-Coachella shows around L.A.

The Bunnymen also tweeted that U.S. and South American dates will be announced soon.

It's that wonky eye of his.

So I'm guessing that they're going to start at Coachella and then spread the tour out west to east, ending up on the east coast in May. They were pretty definite that they'd be touring in April/May and Ian said that Coachella would either begin or end the tour.

Ah, you have to get that cape angle in, eh?

Coachella's kinda like Glastonbury, only sunny and hot. Three-day music festival in the desert near Palm Springs, Calif., in April. So, you and your 20,000 sweaty, sun-stricken best friends.

Last year at Coachella, the Cure played for 3 hours ... the noise police pulled the plug on them at the end because of noise curfews, and they kept on playing. That's what I call value for your money.

I'm not as high on the Cure as I was when I was younger but they always give you your money's worth and more. Not necessarily a good thing but I respect them for that.
