Mr. Brian, did you not pay the bill from Norton/McAfee this month? Can you do something about this onslaught of large amounts of propoganda, because I am having difficulties locating the usual pockets of humor one could previously stumble upon in here. Alright, it was always difficult, but now it is much worse.

I don't know, beyond purely paranoid rants from over enthusiastic fans that think that anything remotely negative posted on here is a crime, I'll have to remember the phrase "Armchair music fans". That's a new one on me.

The dumbasses don't realize that mock EVERYTHING here...even what we like. ESPECIALLY what we like.

Or maybe I should say "dumbass' singular. Any way to shed some IP light on us, Mr. Brian?

Most of you people are so hell bent on discrediting Mac that you don't even make any sense.

Diva Diana you even quote that bands split songs evenly when they don't have to - HELLO!

Just because Les came up with the bass line on bed bugs a songwriter he does not make.

Melody, lyrics and chords legally gives you 100% of a song .

So a lot of the time it is split to keep the peace and to also acknowledge a musicians and the arrangements contribution to the song.

as for 100% of a song... That depends on where the melody is...sometimes the melody is played by another instrument. Sometimes the chord is changed by another instrument. If they contribute a solo in the bridge or their instrument stands out in the intro, then that's another melody. Some bands split songwriting when they don't have too, but I don't find that to be true in this band's case in the early stuff. Bedbugs and Ballyhoo was one example of how one idea developed into a whole. The only people who really know are the ones where were there. It wasn't all Mac, just as the problems weren't all Mac.

I've seen good hearted jesting, I've seen meanspirited stuff too. We've shared alot of great info about the band in the mix.

What difference does it make if I joke Mac crying and putting on the Leonard Cohen? It made one or two people laugh.

if you can't criticize someone, what good are they? plus, I've read somewhere that mockery is the greatest form of flattery. and that to mock is actually to love. I think is was Ghandi who said these things--as valid and applicable today as when he first stated these simple truisms, back in the Stone Age, or right before the industrial revolution (one or the other). the recent poster(s) clearly is (are) uneducated in this regard.

Mac's voice isn't what it was. This has happened quite a few singers for a variety of reasons. It's unfortunate. I'm very glad what he did those years ago was recorded. Not smoking doesn't give you a great voice, but smoking will certainly cause problems for any voice according to voice professionals and medical experts. Mac's "new voice" is OK, but in light of whatever you call that glorious voice he once had, it's a shadow. I'm still sad over it because i only found out about it about 2 months ago. There are also great singers who never get the recognition or recording career. Meanwhile Spears, Britney has been mentioned as one of those people whose talent is small, but publicity is great.

I've yet to see how that is stupid, bitchy or pretentious.

I'm pretty sure the caveman who discovered fire was mocked by his peers for burning himself with it.

See, I'm not stuck in the A.D.s - that was a very B.C. comment

Hey I think we're losing sight of what's important here. We hate Mac!

Oh and I'm a necrophiliac.

I am more than happy Les still sounds good he deserves it.

When it comes to slagging I think there are others out there who really love to find any way to slag off Mac - maybe you could have another forum purely for that purpose.

People can't remain gods forever.

There are singers out there who don't smoke dont drink etc and they will never reach the heights of Mac - even the way he sounds now, which on a good day he still sounds great.

I have never slagged Mac off on these pages, check it out.
