Coldplay

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

No, Dave And The Blue Macaroons.

Yes of course. Silly me. Apologies to Kounelaki, Kook and Crystal Daze.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

A friend was over and while listening to the Fountain he commented that it sounded like a second rate Coldplay. I didn't think it was _that_ good.

Viva has some good songs. I bet it is the over saturation that makes the band so hated rather than the quality of the music.

I think it's Chris Martin that inspires the hatred.

Sadly, a first in Latin and Greek (from anywhere) doesn't make a convincing lyricist or frontman.

Remember the Blackadder episode with Pitt the Younger, the greasy, spotty little oik with the poem, "Why do nice girls hate me....."

That's Chris Martin, that is.

A little like U2 if you ask me. That was my thought. And the whole thing of using strings, that seems really Bunnymen to me on--what's the song called something about if I ruled the world. whatever.

I thought that Joe Satriani thing was a little on thin ice. I was listening to it on an iPhone so it was hard to hear the music really well. I said it sounded a little bit different. I also said that Satriani would have to prove that Coldplay had heard it. the more obvious one was In the Summertime by Mungo Jerry where it was the chords and the melody.

I hates him because he can't really sing all that well. It's one thing to be a bit pitchy at times, I can understand that. Not having the notes at all is completely unforgivable. Much rather hear Switchfoot. Jon Foreman has a pretty high tenor.
