Do you mind clarifying how it was that you were in the studio?

I was an uncredited co-producer on the album at age 5. What people don't realize is they've been going after the younger crowd their whole career and I was brought in to advise on the 4-7 demographic. I remember seeing Gary Coleman there as well.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

As well as offer input into what the black 10-13 demographic thought was happening at the time. I recall he was instrumental on No Dark Things.

When he talks about his daughters, he just lights up. The youngest sounds like a live wire.

I wish he'd get help for his acid reflux. The smoking and drinking don't help with the condition, but there is medicine he could try that would help save his esophagus and ease the pain.
It's nice to see him in a different color than black. The brown hoodie and t-shirt is a nice color on him, except I wanted to reach through the computer monitor to pull out and straighten the hoodie cord that was caught under his t-shirt. At times, it was all I could look at.

I wonder if he knows he fidgets and scratches so much during these interviews. Yet, I've seen some interviews where he sits quietly and doesn't do the scratching routine -- neck, chest, shoulder, neck, chest, shoulder. Maybe it's his fabric softener.

I wish he wouldn't do revisionist history on who wrote the songs. It's obvious he dislikes Les as much as Les dislikes him. Too bad, but understandable.

Les is one of the reasons he still has a career these days, he should show some respect.

Well in Mac's very mild defense Les had a pretty strong go at him in that one interview. Neither were in good taste but Mac really went over the edge. Went way out of his way to minimize Les (okay I kinda understand you two are pissed at each other) and Pete (WTF?)

Based on the interviews I've seen and read (and Turquoise Days) Crocodiles was mainly Mac's lyrics and Will's songs, then Heaven Up Here and Porcupine saw the songs being created more by the band jamming and coming up with them together then it seemed that Ocean Rain it was Mac and Will coming up with the songs (I believe I read that Seven Seas is Will's song) and now it seems it's Mac's songs and to keep Will in the band he lets him sprinkle some guitar dust on them here and there.

Of course this is Bunny Wunny history according to black francis and is subject to change depending on my mood.

I got the feeling that the dig was directed solely at Les. From Ian's description of Jake and Pete sitting in heaven smoking weed together, it's obvious he is/was very fond of Pete.

Does anybody remember the animosity between Les and Ian during the 1988 tour? It came to blows on at least one occasion. I think I witnessed it, or I'm remembering something I read. (As you get older, you start to believe that you've experienced the things you've read. Then you forget everything.)

Why does Mac get in physical confrontations? It's hard to believe there are that many people out there who can't kick his ass. (I guess there was that one lady he surprised on the toilet, but how often do you get that kind of scenario?)

Well, since I think he was talking about the first song on the album, which is "Think I Need It Too," he's obviously blowing smoke out his ass. That no more sounds like "Pretty Vacant" than any nursery rhyme does  To be honest, I've only heard a couple songs off "The Fountain," so I can't weigh in yet. But once I get a copy, look out  ... Huey played "Life of a Thousand Crimes" on his BB6 show last Sunday, which in my sleep-deprived mind sounded kinda dancey.

Does he get whooped every time he gets in a fight? Maybe he's got some muscle bulk under that hoodie and peacoat ... I was reading the liner notes in "Crystal Days" last night and there's mention of another altercation early on, in a recording studio.

I didn't catch that. He definitely should get that taken care of.

Maybe the Sex Pistols he's referring to aren't the Sex Pistols the rest of us know.... I really like the title track The Fountain. It's actually beautiful.

By the way, wasn't the fountain on the cover identified as being in Central Park? Ian said in the interview that it's a fountain in Italy. Hmmmm....

He didn't come out and expressly say he had acid refux, but all the indigestion and the chomping of the antacids at the end of the interview (he did say something was killing him) indicate he's got acid refux. I think he's had it for years.

Ah, that's what those were. possibly along those same lines, he complained of hiccups at the start of the recent L.A. show.

Did I hear him say they were still signed to Warner's, but were asked/told/agreed to put The Fountain out on a subsidiary or something after Korova went under again?
