The Smiths = overrated/Morrissey Solo = underrated

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

I'm listening to that CD right now and so far very little stands out except

Munich Air Disaster 1958
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Not as good as the Comsats that's for sure.

Just got back from the Echo Arena, Liverpool (180 mile round trip). Been listening to Swords this afternoon before the Morrissey gig and thought it sounded really good, much better than the last studio album, looking forward to hear some of the songs live. Morrissey comes on stage to rapturous applause, "It's Saurday, It's Liverpool, It's raining, It's perfect", and rips into a great "This Charming Man", then during the next song some tit throws a beer at him (in a plastic container it must be said), and off he and the band stormed and did not return. From what we heard he sounded in good form and had a spring in his step. A real shame, hopefully not the end.

I think the issue is not always musicality but popularity. you can think something is the best thing in the universe, but if no one else has heard it, your on your own. I haven't heard alot of Morissey's more recent stuff, but I can't lie, I really enjoyed the Smiths "heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now" and "Shoplifters of the World" They played tightly, sounded great and they were pleasant to look at. What more could anyone want? ;)
I long for the pork of Porcupine. (A slide show dedicated mostly to Will right here.... http://www.examiner.com/rock-music-in-l ... -here-tour)

What??? Some ass throws a beer and the band abandons the whole show? That's pretty shitty to all the other people who paid to see them. Granted getting a plastic container full of beer thrown at your head is shitty too but why punish the whole audience?

The offending fan should be pulled up on stage and held down while Morrissey beats the shit out of him. That would be pretty awesome.

Remember when Bowie got that lollipop stick stuck in his eye? That could have been one less eye to worry about so. I feel the same way as you Bri-Bri but then I bet you anything if I was on stage and someone threw something at me I'd throw a fit and storm off stage and have people tell me how awesome I am.

Yeah but that's when he should go back and get a towel and either come back out and find out who did it or tell the stage crew that he's not going back out until that person is removed, something like that. You don't just cancel the whole show for everyone.

Or give refunds. The last Morrissey tickets I bought were almost $70.00 each. I'd be PISSED if that entitled me to a song and a half performance.

Who would throw a beer at Morrissey? That should be punishable by death.

What a fucking twat areshole -never seen that before.Someone gently lobs half an 'arena bitter' on his quiff and he fucks off??????God help them if they would have thrown a cup of Bovril onto his £500 italian silk shirt.

Smiths-fantastic up to Hatful of Hollow compilation time.Overrated after that.Big time.
Morrissey solo-why bother??Cod Smiths tunes, same old black and white actor/actress sleeves....so 'iconic'.Avoid.Shit teddy boy tunes.I'm not his greatest fan.Hated by the british music press so much so that they tried to stitch him up as a racist.
