Thanks for the link. This is a great response. He's finally succumbed to brain damage for all of his boozing and drugging. He's totally deluded. Great stuff!

"You played some intimate shows in New York and Boston. How were they?

Yeah, they were great. New York was especially great because the great were very responsive and my mood was good. It was give and take. Sometimes you go and sing your head and think, "I wish I was watching telly." I don't want to criticize Boston too much, but I thought the audience was very Sunday night lame. I thought, "What's the point of doing this?" I just thought we couldn't have given any more to get so little back from the crowd. I mean, I thought the band was perfect."

For the record, he stood motionless in the dark for 65 minutes and it's the audience's fault. I thought he was majorly hung over, but now I know it's all my fault he was so disinterested. Yay! I hope the Boston crowd disappoints him again in 3 weeks....

And is there something wrong with this interview's transcription? It's like it's been translated through Babel Fish.

Mac's been deluded since he left the Bunnymen thinking he could have a successful solo career. Older but no wiser.

I have to say that these recent interviews with Ian are pretty depressing. At least he's being honest (if not delusional) but saying WAYGTDWYL and The Fountain are your favorite Bunnymen albums? The ones that have hardly any input from any other members?

I really think Ian's a lost cause at this point. It's too bad that Will can't make money from solo stuff and contributing on other band's albums because he's basically being insulted in a lot of these interviews.

He said he liked them. he's got to promote them, right?

As far as Mac singing with his eyes closed, well he's always had a tendency to do that.

The guys in EATB have never really been press darlings. If you want that, take a look Duran Duran.com charges $35 a year for their fan club still. Oh, and they'll keep up with you on twitter, facebook, etc...

Actually in the early days they were very much the darlings of the press, I remember them being all over the NME, Sounds, Melody Maker etc for a couple of years.

exactly. I think for a bunch of stroppy, unresponsive, un-pro-active (sp?) gits they've done remarkably well. Loads of journos are big fans of them.

The press did the best they could with what the Bunnymen gave, and yeah, their music was amazing. But it was hilarious that they were such misfits. The fangirls posted some interview where Ian was described as being tired, cleared his throat several times, mouthed off by expressing that he was not going to do that anymore and was going to leave it to someone else he mentioned by name. As they left, he was recorded saying that he thought he came off as quite nice that day. Not really.

Duran and Spandau came out all smiles with their photo shoots and videos. They spoke amicably with the press. Duran Duran actually worked really hard on their image and treated it like part of the business. It was part of their great success in the 80s.[/img]
