I wonder Why

I wonder why

Gordie and Stu don't contribute to any Bunnymen compositions.

I mean both Gordie and Stu are accomplished musicians

Both have been with the band long enough to be considered Bunnymen?

I think thats the main problem with the bunnymen of today- They are not a band in the true sense of the word.

Perhaps the band should be re- named Ian McCulloch and the Bunnymen or Ian McCulloch and Friends. Because esentialy thats what they have become.

Ian has even taken over some production duties

I wonder what the results would be if Will teamed up with Morrisey- That would be interesting.

Whatever you think the truth is the new "Bunnymen Product" is not working. 63 in the charts before it dissappears for for good.

What more proof do you need- Return to your old formula or what ever it was you did back in the raincoat days.

Remember
There were thre people in the Jam all called Paul Weller

It struck me as being a little odd that Paul, Gordy and Nick are listed as additional musicians in the CD booklet and are also thanked on the last page (with others).

Probably all that needs to be said on the current state of the band.

I do like the Ian McCulloch and Friends suggestion though.

Make Ian Broudie a Bunnymen.

Let Will make a Glide album for Mac to sing on.

Because Mac won't let them.

Do those guys have anything else going on musically? Something we can check out before we give them official VT permission to contribute to the Bunnymen songwriting process?

Have we given them permission to play at all? I don't remember voting. Better not with elections being the way they are these days or we might get that Karzai feller on tambourine.

Let's not dismiss Karzai on the tamborine straight away here. We should at least hear him play first.

And I hear his brother can score some quality heroin too.

gordy, ste and nick have been with the band for a while. i think they are a good fit, and definitely do a great job playing the songs live... but the reality is that they are hired session musicians. i don't think they are considered "official members of the band" in that sense. also as mentioned above, i don't think mac would let them.

its a shame, i think they would have some good input on a new record and new songs. i think ste does a great job with the backup vocals too.

and btw, its STE, not STU.

Is that short for something?

I believe Les was considered a hired studio player after he came back.

No?

I thought he wanted to be paid like one?

Who's got a link to that Les interview where he implies Mac drove him from the band?

Didn't the same thing happen to Pete after his stint with The Sex Gods? Brought back on board as a "paid hand?"

I somethimes get the impression that the "shy" Mac can sometimes be a real prima donna. Tolerated because we love the sound of his voice.
