I think the Brits have the Skiffle Hall of Fame or something.

Why Brian? You live in Ohio - you should be proud of it - come on it's an I.M. Pei building to-boot.
You guys got that and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

We have some hall of fame probably funded with lottery money and a £2 government I.O.U. grant - O2 Arena "the British Music Experience" is that the one?

I guess I was speaking more about the awards show and all that. It just all seems like a big yawn and completely predictable. They do have some nice exhibits at the actual building which actually isn't even where they do the show or awards or anything.

we started something akin to that few years back and they did someone from each decade and its like well do pink floyd really need telling they've been successful AND been approved of by a bunch of musos and journos. But that lasted a couple of years and they realised noone was interested. though there is the O2 thing though if you want to look at stuff. ANd dont people have to pay to be given their award? Is that true? dunno but wowser. That must hurt a bit - we want you in our hall of fame because youre so great but only if you give us a bag of cash. Obviously putting such temptation in front of a profession that by definition is self obsessed is a marvellous business plan and i cant fault that. and what made me laugh most is that they had to wait unbtil george harrison was dead before letting him in. that must have hurt a bit (apart from he was already dead so over ion the spirit world maybe he was in pain) . did say dont get me started? sorry.

Only played it a few times, like about half of it (first half - or what would be side one if vinyl). 'Life Of A Thousand Crimes' is catchy. 'Proxy' gets my vote for worst bunnymen song ever. 'Idolness Of Gods' doesn't live up to the hype. Missus called 'Do You Know Who I Am' the Bop It song (Mac reading out a list of instructions - kept expecting to hear "Arrggghh"), love the guitar on 'Forgotten Fields'. Still needs a few more listens before I know where it stands but the feeling I get is that although not a bad album, it's just not as good as any other bunnymen albums.

Although I like what bits I've heard, I'm waiting for the November 10th release of the CD before I pass judgement. I only listened to the 1987 "gray album" for the first time last night, however, I've heard many of the songs in their recorded live performances from 1987. I throughly enjoyed it. Although many believe this is their worst album released with the original lineup, I suspect there are those out there that would now rate it higher in light of their more recent releases. Yes, no?

Finally got to listen to The Fountrain loud in the car. It does sound better, but not even 2004 Mitsubishi speakers can help "Proxy." That song stinks.

The Fountain is a new entry at just no 63 in the official UK album charts. The commercial sounding album hasn't exactly been as a commercially accepted as they had wished for.

I'm with you on that. Didn't think much of the internet clips I'd heard but when I blasted it on in the car thought it sounded much stronger. There's no 'r' in 'Poxy' though.
