The new songs on "Later" were surprisingly OK and much better than the awful performances the band normally seem to give on this particular show. "The Cutter" was one of the most impressive versions I have seen yet. I hate to admit it, but I think the old men have still "got it"-perhaps I am on the wrong forum.

On The Buses is awesome, it's so bad it's brilliant. I have most of the episodes and all the films on dvd.

my house is next door to a garage (the sort that sells cars that is) and due to one thing or another I've had to have a few dealings with them but have a hard time because the manager is just like blakey. I know, you have to be there really.

According to Wikipedia, Reg Varney was 57 by the time the last series of On the Buses was made. Blakey 37. How comes Reg Varney was still at his mother's home chasing skirt? Dirty bugger. Another useless fact. Reg Varney was the first person in the world to use an ATM machine.

Anyway, sorry FC - back to the original thread!

I think he was supposed to be in his early 30's or something. Every time I watch it my missus remarks on how unlikely it is that two ugly old geezers like Stan and Jack could pull such young, attractive "birds".

Jack Harper always reminds me of Rod Hull. The only "bird" I ever saw him on TV was with an emu. You know, they later tried to reinvent Rod Hull to make him more appealing to the kids, even though he was dead, with the launch of Rod Hull and Emo.

Performing their classic album Ocean Rain last year and acquiring a new rhythm section and producer (Busted man John McLaughlin) seems to have rejuvenated the Bunnymen. Their most accessible offering in a long time sees Ian McCulloch at his most lyrically playful and cocksure, hovering between confessional ("I cried a fountain dry") and mischievous, and firing off one-liners as if it were the band's 80s heyday. Will Sergeant's guitar-playing is at its scintillating best, although it is piano that backs the album's most enduring moment, the tearily anthemic The Idolness of Gods. There's nothing as brooding as The Killing Moon, nor as weird as Turquoise Days – but their poppiest tunes since Bring On the Dancing Horses could win the Scouse veterans a new generation of fans.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.
