I dutifully bought tickets for the December 19th (one-off Christmas?) show in Liverpool the day they went for sale and now find it is the final show of a long and rapidly growing list. I'm looking forward to seeing how Mac manages to communicate his lyrics through the medium of mime (maybe something along the lines of Alexei Sayle's Monsieur Aubergine?). I was in two minds about going to the Manchester gig in October but am now glad I also bought tickets for the earlier show, just in case.

I'm still umming and ahing over one date, at the Roundhouse. I'm tempted, but I know it won't be any different to what I have seen before. I don't know.

I don't think anyone's voice would hold up for that type of abuse.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

He plays all his December gigs, rakes it in, burns out his voice and then in early 2010 announces that he's retiring and going to adopt a Ukranian baby with Elton John, turning his black hoodie into a baby carrier.

I bought a ticket to the December 18th show. After seeing posts like this one I begin wondering if I'm really crazy for seriously thinking of traveling all the way to Liverpool. $1000 in travel expenses and a $30 ticket only to hear Ian croak out Killing Moon, Rescue and Do It Clean. Maybe he'll pass the microphone and hoodie over to Will while he picks up the guitar again. For that amount of money I can buy a season pass for unlimted skiing here in Colorado, along with all the gas I need to travel to and from the mountain towns and paying for those expensive cheeseburger lunches. Or I could take that same money and travel several times around the States watching Chickenfoot rock the house. My brain hurts trying to decide what to do.

The uncle seemed to have a particularly wicked sense of humour.
