I know very little about Jake Brockman. I take he was the unofficial fifth Bunnymen on the tours and grey album playing keyboards, and became a full member with the Noel Burke-fronted Bunnymen.

Maybe someone could detail a little bit more about him for those who know little. I haven't looked at the official site yet so I have no idea as to whether they have written an obituary or anything like that.

Abit like The Beatles and Pink Floyd, the Bunnymen are dying in the wrong order.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

That's very sad news. I remember, as a skint 15 year old soon after Ocean Rain was released, writing to the Bunnymen's PO Box in Liverpool to ask if I could buy a single copy of their Freakbeat fanzine and (probably a few weeks later) an envelope coming back with a copy of the fanzine and a handwritten letter from Jake explaining that you had to subscribe with words to the effect that "If you're that skint here's a free copy of the first issue". It meant a lot that he'd taken the time to do so, even more so when I found out a year or two later that he was regarded as the fifth Bunnyman.

I'm sure there are others on the forum who will know more about his appearances with the Bunnymen but I know he played harspsichord on the Life at Brians EP and played keyboards and guitar on the 1986 American tour. I am sure he also played keyboards on the Bedbugs and Ballyhoo performance for the BBC's Whisle Test around 1986-7? He continued in the Reverberation-era Bunnymen and later recorded the BOM album with Damon Reece.

Other than the Jake Brockman experience I really knew nothing about him but based on the responses from both sites he sounded like a good guy.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Oh hell that's dreadful news.

RIP Jake xxxx

One thing and I really hope this isn't taken the wrong way.
The twitter spelling is atrocious. I have say I find it very sad that the trouble hasn't been taken to spell Jake's name correctly.

It is with deep regret that we must inform you of the death of Jake Brokman the bunnymens origional keys player& 5th bunnyman.
