The Cure - The Top

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

The Cure - The Top

Back in High School I thought this was pure genius. Listening to it right now. With a few exceptions, what a pile of shit.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Robert Smith + heroin - Simon Gallup = The Top. Gallup's bass is the glue in the Cure.

Japanese Whispers was just a singles & b-sides compilation, not a proper album.

Heroin is quite an absurd drug. I've never quite understood it. I've never known anyone who's been addicted to heroin that's ever turned into a better person... (and) coke abuse is a pretty rubbish way to live." THE CURE's ROBERT SMITH

You know it's okay to ask for help when you're stuck for a come-back, right? I'm sure we could have come up with something pretty good without too much trouble.

I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one to consider withahip's comeback to be subpar. WAH, that kind of lame attempt at retaliation may fly on the BOF, but it's just not up to the mastery-level insults around these parts.

To be fair, I don't think wah is feeling 100%.

he's been bleeding for about three days now.

Frank isn't worth more effort than that one.

Have to agree The Top is without doubt The Cures poorest release, although in reality it really was a Robert Smith solo LP. He did write it all and play virtually every instrument on it with the exception of the drums......

It was also recorded during his drug induced period but I never read or heard about him taking Heroin, yes everything else but herion is what I've read........ And to be fair he was also recording and co writing the Banshees LP "Hyena" and The Glove LP "Blue Sunshine" at the same time... One can only spread themselves so much.......

Surely he's got the girth to do that though? And he's manged to spread his thin talent amazingly well over the years. One of my fave bands...............
