When was the last time I actually listened to the bunnys

General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

So every five to ten years is a peak, then?

No. There have been quite a few good things in the last 12 years since they reformed. They have released a live DVD, a box set, remastered reissues of the first 4 albums with unreleased material, 4 new studio albums. All resulting in 5 American tours in addition to the Ocean Rain show in NYC and a few festival dates. That's a lot to grateful for and to be excited about in 12 years for all we bitch and moan. In retrospect, the live DVD and Flowers and Siberia were not the greatest but the buzz around that time was good and I never had a bad time at any of the 6 shows I've seen since they reformed.

I think this needs to be a sticky.

You really just made me feel good about the band.

Thanks.

Glad to be a beacon of hope despite my general shitty mood lately. That actually cheered me up! Some bands spend half that time in their whole career and can't come up with half that resume. Now in contrast...

I am a big Psychedelic Furs fan too. They tour every so often, no record deal in the last 10 years, very little fan activity on their official website forum but otherwise great website (run by a dedicated fan for no pay no less), no new material except for a song or two tacked onto a new comp and a ho-hum solo album from Richard Butler.
Their live DVD at House of Blues they released a few years back is one of my favorite live DVD's and seeing them play with the Bunnymen on the Flowers tour was great but we are pretty lucky despite all the Bunnymen missteps, but I think missteps are seem to be part of the equation with the Bunnymen. They seem to infuriate their fans as much as they please them ya know?

It would be nice to get a definitive list of the use of Bunnymen songs in ads.

To answer the original question of this thread, I rarely lately seek out Bunnymen (unless I have a new good quality bootleg like that Australian show I posted a link about) and only hear them when they come up on shuffle on my iPod. That may spark me me to listen to a few other songs. My interest usually peaks again when something new is coming out or there is a show to look forward to or it's just generally been a long time since I listened to a whole album. It's not reflective of any change in admiration for their back catalog. When the songs come up on shuffle I will admit that I tend to skip Grey Album, Flowers and Siberia songs quite often.

Bingo, Mr Brian.

Mr. Brian please delete your account.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
