That other band from Liverpool

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

The Beatles Catalog Remastered

The Beatles catalog has been digitally remastered for the first time and will be available Sept. 9, 2009. (Yep -- Number 9/Number 9/Number 9)Each of the CDs is packaged with UK album art, expanded booklets with original and newly written liner notes, and rare photos. For a limited period, each CD will also be embedded with a brief documentary film about the album.

The collection comprises all 12 Beatles albums in stereo—with track listings and artwork as originally released in the UK—and Magical Mystery Tour, which became part of the Beatles' core catalog when the CDs were first released in 1987. In addition, the collections Past Masters, Vol. I and Vol. II are now combined as one title, for a total of 14 titles over 16 discs.

Some one posted news of this on a New Order board. Lots of ppl have been bitching about the New Order remasters, not just the content, but they shipped with actual technical issues.........anyways there was a long exhausting post describing in detail how they went about remastering the beatles catalog and what will be included. whatever your feelings about the beatles and/or remasters sounds like they did a hell of job technically and content wise.

Hi five sister. Me too. (Warning: Get ready for all the douchebag comments about how they were "overrated", whatever that is supposed to mean.)

The Beatles are a fine band indeed Jack. A bit overrated though.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Bring it on.

I wonder if the remaining Beatles will try to postpone the release of this set because they're not happy with the production.

I've tried to get into the Beatles so many times but I just never had that mind blowing, transcendental experience I was expecting after hearing how amazing they were and influential on bands I do adore. I do like their earlier stuff and I think "Here Comes the Sun" is one of the best songs ever written but it's just never fully clicked with me. And Frank Black is devoted to them so you know I tried.

I do like the VU but don't pay any attention to me I have emotional problems when it comes to music. And probably a few other topics.

Emotional problems regarding music?

If the VU did not exist, EATB would not exist. Neither would New Order, the Cure, etc, etc, etc.

No Cure would have made Dave Smith happy.
