Do you know this tune?

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Do you know this tune?

Rules
A. You loved this tune but don't think it was well enough known for many people to have heard it despite being big in your area (local radio, groups of friends, etc.,) for a short time. Less than six months.
B. You want to share it.

I will start.

Brad - 20th Century.

They started out as Bliss - the guitar, bass, sax player & drummer were all baristas at the cafe where I hung out. They dropped the drummer and changed their name to Satchel. They recorded an album and an EP. Then their guitar player left and was replaced by the drummer's old band-mate who happened to now be in a band called Pearl Jam.

They began recording their next album with Stone Gossard, when some jackass pops out of the woodwork and says he owns the name "Satchel". So, they changed the band's name to the dude's first name - Brad.

It's a band from Cincinnati called the Ass Ponys that put out many albums up until just a couple of years ago but this song/album was their only major record label release in 1994 and got MTV airplay and did pretty well on the "modern rock" charts. My wife is in this video at 2:24. She's the redhead over the singers right shoulder when the crowd gets up on the stage. Don't blink.

Mad Season: River of Deceit

When Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam were on hiatus, AIC frontman Layne Staley and PJ rhythm guitarist Mike McReady both went to rehab where they met and decided to form a band. Originally called The Gacy Bunch (after party clown / kiddie killer John Wayne Gacy), they changed their name to Mad Season when the label refused to release an album under the GB name.

Harold "Happy" Chichester is the frontman and played keyboards for Afghan Whigs for a time and also played bass in Royal Crescent Mob for years. Harold also guested recently (much to my surprise) on the PBS show "Piano Guy" that teaches folks how to play piano by ear and fakebook. He is actually an amazing Jaggeresque frontman, a real natural, usually dripping in sweat 5 minutes into the first song. Honeysuckle Strange is a fantastic rock album that is still one of my all time favorites. I am stunned that this album did not do better. It seemed like a sure fire hit all the way around. I really thought this band would be the next big thing. The drummer Jerome Dillon was in NIN too.

Weird connection - I saw Happy Chichester just a couple weeks ago - he was the opener on a 3-act bill.

Second on the bill was Shawn Smith, who sang with the groups Bliss, Satchel & Brad I mentioned above.

The main event - Mark Lanegan & Greg Dulli.

Chichester, Smith & Lanegan have all worked with Dulli on his Twilight Singers project

And of course, Lanegan & Dulli are the Gutter Twins:
