Next Tuesday we will elect the next President of the United States. The result will have great consequences for the nation.

This election offers a choice is between two men with dramatically different visions of the future. We have strong feelings about this choice. But we feel even more strongly that all Americans, regardless of political preference, have a stake in the outcome and should vote in this critical election.

This is likely to be a close election. Your vote matters. Please use it and make a difference.

Sincerely,
Trent Reznor

Yeah, I got that one yesterday - posted about it here: http://frankiesbrilloblog.blogspot.com/ ... -vote.html

He's apparently afraid of pissing off some of his fan base (and likes to refer to himself in the plural). "We have strong feelings about this choice". I'm guessing he's Republican.

I don't think Reznor has ever hidden his political leanings from his fans. I actually prefer this over the usual "rock the vote, make your voice heard and vote for who I tell you to" message we get from most celebrities.

You know, I think it's how you deliver the message. I don't mind a celebrity saying "I think X's policies are bullshit, so I'm voting for Y" - they're telling you how they feel without telling you how to vote. What I do NOT like is when bands from outside the US tell us how to vote. Example - on the SNL episode where Coldplay played four (FUCKING FOUR!!!) songs, Chris Martin ended one song shouting "Barack Obama" into the mic.
Last time I checked, Mr. Paltrow doesn't have US Citizenship.. so he should kinda shut the fuck up.

I was at a Flaming Lips show before the 2004 election and Wayne Coyne said something about how he was not gonna say fuck Bush but he did feel strongly that the country needed to elect Kerry to get the country back on track. I thought that was a cool way of putting it.

You did it - you mentioned Flaming Lips. Mr. Brian's gonna give you a lapdance for that one. He loves him some Flaming Lips.

Perennial loudmouth Liam Gallagher has launched another verbal attack on Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, calling him a ‘knobhead student’ for restating his anti-war views at Coldplay’s Teenage Cancer Trust benefit show on Monday.

Speaking after his guest performance with Richard Ashcroft at the Royal Albert Hall, Liam accused Chris of speaking out about the wrong subject. He told The Sun:

"When Coldplay did this gig they banged on about the war, that's wrong. Chris Martin shouldn't be using this cause to bang on about his own views on the war. If him and his gawky bird want to go banging on about the war they can do it at their own gigs.”

He further added: “That lot are just a bunch of knobhead students - Chris Martin looks like a geography teacher. What's all that with writing messages about Free Trade on his hand when he's playing. If he wants to write things down I'll give him a pen and a pad of paper. Bunch of students. These gigs are about kids who have got cancer, they've got to fight a war every day of their lives. That's what we're all here doing this for”.

That perennial loudmouth has just scored a few bonus points in my book. He nailed it on the head. Good for him. (And I'm a guy who's very against this piece of shit war)

Can we all come to an agreement now that, if one's favored candidate does NOT win the election, that one won't spend the next four years on internet forums spinning conspiracy theories with fellow sore losers? That would be really nice for a change.

I don't think we all need to come to an agreement on that one, JackT. I think you may have to agree to not spent the next four years on internet forums spinning conspiracy theories with fellow sore losers.
