Are the Bunnymen still a great group? Discuss...

Postby Miracat » Wed Jun 18, 2008 11:02 am

Are we here because the Bunnymen were a magnificent band in the 80s and we still love them for that? I have concerns about the damage done to Mac's voice from years of smoking, drinking, etc.

That said, Electrafixion were ace and I do hope that they can prove me wrong with the new album. What do you think?

P.S. I'm not dissing them, I think they are still seriously talented, but have they lost that youthful fire?

Yes!

The evidence is there for all to hear - listen to Evergreen and Siberia back to back - it's heartbreaking. Mac, you silly tosser!

Despite hoping otherwise I know the new album will be another mid-tempo dad-rock plodder with at least one crap ballad thrown in to showcase Mac's (non) "croon".

They're nearly 50 of course they have, it's just a job to them now and I'm convinced Mac would rather be anywhere else than in the Bunnymen.

I'm picking out a new pair of Dockers to wear to the show.

Dr. Cheese's quote in JackT's post is a good description of Coldplay.

Would that be the 'Coldplay are shite' one?

I haven't felt this rebellious for likng a band since getting into the Bunnymen in junior high.

That's me, not following the crowd, I guess.
