I see nobody believed me the first time

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Based on the views of The Fiery Furnaces and Heartaches threads (thanks for the support JackT and Withahip) But if I can stress one band PUHLEASE check out the Exploding Hearts. I left a lengthy and heartfelt (AKA a beer an Ambien fueled) dissertation on the forum that shall not be named and they really are a big deal. Insanely catchy power pop/punk with lyrics which veer wildly from the insanely witty to extremely heartfelt. Adding a bit of poignance to the music (and one of the great tragedies of my life) is three out of the four members perished in a car accident in 2003. But they left behind two amazing albums which made me feel excited about music in a way I hadn't been since the first round of punk/post-punk bands.

How's that ignore button coming along, Brian?

Smart as motherf*cker. Your previous "thanks for the support" has now been rescinded and you just got dropped frpm my top 24 in favor of Tila Tequila. And to think I defended you at Amazon.com even though Studio 60 was the wittiest and most courageous show on TV.

You are a cold man JackT.

I saw her on a cable show- and her head looked like she was just squeezed out of the placenta. .

Glad to hear that you liked it.

They have even better material but I couldn't find it online. If you're feeling adventurous on iTunes one of these days I would recommend:

"We Don't Have to Worry Anymore" (my five year old's personal favorite)
"So Bored" (my personal favorite)
"Thorns in Roses" (just plain exciting)
"Sleeping Aids and Razor Blades" (funny and heartbreaking at the same time)
