About the past...

I'm currently reading the book, "Liverpool Wondrous Place: Music From Cavern to Cream" by Paul Du Noyer. It's an EXCELLENT read. Chapter 8 too, is the beginning parts of the forumlation on the Bunnymen. There's also an excellent part at the end of Chapter 7 in regards to the beginnings of Roger Eagle's infamous club, Eric's. Plus, there's an excellent photo at the beginning part of the 3rd photo section in the book.

Anyway, after reading the end of Chapter 7 today, it got me thinking of this website and the official forum too.

Have any of you here who post, ever been to Eric's in its heydays?
If so, what were your experiences like?
Do you have any funny stories from there? Did you ever meet anyone who became famous?
Have you ever been to Probe Records too? That place must have been AWESOME. ( I go a lot to 2 record shops in existence still for my own vinyl library).

I'm just interested b/c this book really details how things were back-in-the-day w/ its descriptions in time travel. Plus, seeing and reading on how things were from back then was just seemingly much more cool than today's experiences.

Thanks in advance for posting whatever you may share. :)

I've got that book but I haven't got round to reading it yet.

Unfortunately I never experienced Erics, bit too young (not very often I get to say that these days !!!), we need a film version of the goings on from those days!

Hey! How are you?
I was kind of thinking about the same thing. What would be interesting too, is finding out who exactly from these forums attended the production of "Eric's the Musical" this upcoming October, according to the Liverpool '08 schedule & how it rated.

He says phrases like: Asia is no longer my case, Asia is totally overcrowded!.What the Dirk because grad said, Dirk but that the law has thus so, The Dirk, the you of you like the you of you like the Dirk, who has so much experience, You should write,K says only: When love goes,
The hobbies. Reach me over the radish, radish being. Reach me over the radish, radish being.
Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness.

Thank you. I think that book was even listed in this book's bibliography. I'll have to check it out. I'm going to try to read several of the books in that bibliography b/c they just seem interesting. Cheers.

I just think it's funny that Holly Johnson had the words "bone" and "flute" in the title of his memoirs

Cool, a guess the word game for Holly Johnson.

The first time he gets a blankety blank

Rover SD1 car?

Season ticket for Liverpool FC?

Sony Walkman?

A ticket for the cross-channel hovercraft?

An idea for the lyrics for Two Tribes.

A cock up the arse?
