Morrissey - All You Need Is Me

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Morrissey - All You Need Is Me

I wouldn't call this classic Morrissey but how is a 49 year old man who listens to show tunes gonna rock out harder than Ian and Will combined? It makes "Think I Need It Too" sound like the Siberia throwaway it really is.

That's how you play the bass and pound the drums and Morrissey's voice has only gotten better.

He still wants ot make rock songs.

Irish Blood, English Heart is one of his catchiest tunes ever.

That's kind of what I always thought. (Having said that, VH was a monumental album, IMO.)

I'm willing to be shown otherwise, though.

I'd say he's doing alright for someone pushing 50.

I think Bona Drag, Your Arsenal and Vauxhall and I are classic albums. Even his uneven solo albums have a couple of classic Morrissey tracks each.

The pushing fifty argument doesn't hold much water when you look at the likes of Iggy, Bowie, Nick Cave and Dave Gahan.

You forgot JackT. That fool is fine despite his advanced age.

Dave Gahan was pretty messed up there with the smack for awhile. Voice trainer and cleaning up saved him. Hey Mac . . .

Gahan, Morrissey and Vanian have all become better vocalists as they aged. I was pretty bummed the last time I heard Iggy do "Seach and Destroy" though.

i really liked this song (the morrissey vid). you are right about the bass and the drums being a strong driving force... which i do think is missing from new bunnymen stuff (at least as compared to the old stuff)

but if comparing this song to the new bunnymen song... i think Will's guitar work is great on think i need it too, and i think the guitar on morrissey's song is a little downplayed...

but it's really apples and oranges here.

Well Boz Boorer is good and all but he's no Will. That new Morrissey song is pretty rockin' though.

Anyone know what Alain Whyte is up to?
