What was I thinking when I paid to see that band???

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

I tell people my first concert was the Kinks.

It was actually Gary Numan.

If you tell anyone, I will kill you!

p.s. I am proud to say I saw the Boomtown Rats. I still like them!

mine was (1971) the now fat, beer-drinking, golf-playing Alice Cooper

SO embarassing

I loved him at the time. Thank God I didn't get a tatoo of him anywhere

1971?
I don't think they would've let me into an Alice Cooper concert at 5.

you don't have to worry Red, the Bunnymen will always be cool because that's their goal and they don't even have to try hard.

And Frank, in 1971 I was 15! old old old

P.S.- My daughter just got a tattoo of New Jersey on the inside of her wrist. Her father hasn't seen it yet.

I saw Gary Numan - twice! And I remember the shows, especially the first one (1979 or 1980?), as being pretty good. It was the Telekon tour. Or something llike that. I think he came through Boston a third time, but no one would go with me. Why, I can't imagine.

I think Alice Cooper played golf even then - I saw him interviewed not long ago and he was talking about how he, Iggy Pop and I think Ozzy Osbourne used to sneak off and play golf but they were terrified someone would find out! I thought it was pretty funny.

Well, we all found out! It's kind of like Bob Dylan selling Escalades. :?

My first concert was Peter Frampton in 1975. I was supposed to see America around the same time. Don't remember why I didn't-maybe it was canceled or maybe a blizzard. Parents wouldn't let me go to concerts when weather was bad. Lost some school mates that way. Missed Styx and a $5 REO Speedwagon show (which was before they got big) because of major snow.

Styx, Bingley Hall, Staffordshire circa 1980. Oh the shame of it all, I still have satin nightmares to this very day! Nice tache collection though.
