Gutter Twins

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Gutter Twins

I've brought these guys up before - love them.

I missed them last time around, but they're coming back as part of Sub Pop's 20th anniversary.

They are playing a couple other US dates, but must be having wild success in Europe - they seem to spend a lot of time there.

The Afghan Whigs always did well in Europe too. You can cover a lot more territory with less money touring in Europe than in the States where there is a lot of land between major cities where you can't play.

True. I've got my tickets for the Showbox. Great space (about a block away from my apartment). I've seen Love & Rockets, Luna, Dandy Warhols, The Bunnymen & BRMC there, among others.

That day and the previous day see reunion performances of Green River & The Vaselines in an (ugh) festival environment, all as part of the Sub Pop anniversary. I think I'll give the festival a pass though.

Gutter Twins show on Saturday was fantastic. Great crowd. Nobody there screaming out for Dulli & Lanegan to play Whigs or Screaming Trees tracks

That's probably why Dulli doesn't come to Cincinnati with this.

I finally googed 'em (ya gotta put up those myspace links) - when I saw goth/blues on the reading I thought I'd like 'em.

Yes. Feels like BRMC, Nick Cave, the Whigs and some elctronica and Sisters of Mercy sprinled on top thrown in a pot.

the gutter twins were supposed to play philly within the next few weeks (according to the local listings) but just looked today after seeing your post, and see that they moved the date till november!! so maybe by then i'll have had a chance to listen properly, and can go to the show  the only down side is they are now playing on a wednesday night. (the original time was a saturday)
