Coldplay's new single

Not everyone's favourite band, but given that there are ongoing current connections with the Bunnies with the band, I thought I'd mention it: They are offering their first single "Violet Hill" off their new album as a free download via the coldplay.com.

In some ways, give them credit that they can take a different direction rather than releasing the same stuff over again. But I take back what I have said about "Think I Needed Two" having heard that. Thankfully, it was free so having the message "Do you want to send this to your recycle bin?" on my computer afterwards came with no loss of money.

Still, a good idea to offer a free download taster first. Maybe a certain other band could take note come July.

I never liked Coldplay BUT it doesn't even remotely sound like them! I think that's why I like it :confused:

I hope the Bunnymen have done the same.

Haven't heard it, have no desire to hear it. If I do hear it by mistake I'll dislike it on principle and because Chris Martin is so wanky!

I hope to never hear it.

But that's unlikely because at some point during my life this song will show up in a TV ad, TV show or movie I'm watching or be piped in as musack in a store I'm in. So I'll be forced to hear it.

Yet, even though I'll know it's Chris Coldplay singing, I won't know that the song I'm being forced to listen to is this exact song. Boolah.

really? It sounds just like Coldplay formula to me. Piano into, simple lyrics, they just brought up the bass and guitar in the mix....and I LIKE Coldplay.

i've always liked coldplay, never understood the slagging. overhyped, yes, to much so for their own good. cm is kinda gee though, those stupid pieces of tape on his fingers??? wtf?
