What gigs are you attending next?

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

What gigs are you attending next?

Postby Seven Seas » Tue Apr 15, 2008 4:05 pm

In an attempt to try to get friendly conversation going about gigs and possibly looking for recommendations for some interesting ones, which bands will you be seeing next?

Anyone got any recommendations for some good ones?

Recently, I saw Asia, The California Guitar Trio, Turn It On Again, New York Dolls, The Machine, 1964-The Tribute.

I got lined up so far this summer:

The Smithereens (!), Lou Reed, B52's, The Cure, Gin Blossoms, Journey, Cheap Trick, Heart & of course, our band...the men...the Bunnymen...twice.

Is anyone here into going to a lot of gigs? I mean, not just to spend the money but, to really see the band perform their craftsmenship? Just curious...

What can you add?

I just saw Etta James last weekend. She is 70, losing her marbles (causing her to ramble on between songs) and rubs the inside of her thighs when she sings "Come To Mama" while her sons play bass and drums in her band.

Her voice sounds great, though!

My last gig was last night -- I got dragged along to see the "winner" of the UK's T-mobile unsigned band (Envy and Other Sins). What a load of shite. The support band (Office Works) were better.

Is that BSS? Where's the chick?

The chick I was referring to was BSS chick, Red, cos she doesnt have red hair.

So actually I really dont get the subtlety of your clip, K.

How's the race track these days?
