Front 242

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Front 242

My favorite industrial band and my favorite song by them. From 1993's
05:22:09:11 OFF album: "Crushed"

http://www.last.fm/music/Front+242/_/Crushed?autostart

The whole album really turned industrial/electronica on it's head with such an organic and warm sound and female vocals which at the time were somewhat of a rarity.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I'd say if you like warm organic industrial/electronica with female vocals start with Chris and Cosey http://www.chrisandcosey.com/

Yeah I've been pretty much following the careers of the former Throbbing Gristle members. I like Chris and Cosey much more than Psychic TV though. But I'm down for 242 more than anyone else. Have you heard their 2003 album "Pulse"? It's a little more atmospheric than their previous albums (less emphasis on song structure) but "One With the Fire" is rockin'.

I still have that video on VHS. Unfortunately I haven't had a VHS player for about 5 + years.

Did anyone catch 242's ReBoot tour? Amazing stuff!

Yeah at the 3:05 mark is how I remember them. Fuck they blew me away with their live shows. Most industrial acts have one whiny singer clinging to their mic stand and looking really angsty but 242 live made believers of my brother and wife (neither were predisposed to industrial). KMFDM was pretty energetic as well and probably the band most responsible for my questioning certain beliefs I had growing up.

I like Delirium's Karma - but Poem was just to Enigmatized - this Crushed is really good.
