The Cure

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Live 8 was, and remains a brilliant moment but what is more important is the brilliant movement of which it was a part. This gives the poorest of the poor real political muscle for the first time.

It is this movement of church people and trade unionists, soccer moms and student activists, that will carry the spirit of Live 8 on. It is this movement, not rock stars, that will make it untenable in the future to break promises to the most vulnerable people on this planet.

That was always why we put on the concerts.”

Bono

(Gag)

Something tells me the poor of the world are no better off than they were before the shows. But a bunch of rock stars got lots of free swag and the oppurtunity to show the world they really, really care. Cause it's not charity unless someone is watching.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

The three hrs went by fairly quickly, actually. No real 20min dirges but a couple of prolonged solos.
Robert Smith was never the svelte and sexy type and he's definitely added poundage over the past 30 years. He was drinking beer on stage and seemed quite healthy. Mind you I wasn't that close to the stage that I could see just how much his face resembles unbaked bread.

As for the cheesy names, Liverwurst or Pork'n'Onion would be worse.

Is he still partial to the red lippy?

I see they got Uncle Fester playing guitar, and Bob's looking well on it too:

Not sure I recognise anyone from these pics - which former members are currently in favour?

The lineup should be Robert Smith, Porl Thompson, Simon Gallup and Jason Cooper.

Siouxsie had this to say about Robert's current appearance

"As far as Robert Smith, I mean, darling, really, do you own a mirror?"
