New Bauhaus Album

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

New Bauhaus Album

New Bauhaus next month.

The good news for Bauhaus fans: the group is eyeing a March 4 release for "Going Away White," its first studio album since 1983. The bad news: there will be no further activity from the legendary goth band, who reunited in 2005 for the Coachella festival and later toured the world.

A new album? Who knows? I wasn't expecting much for the Bauhaus reunion show at the Palladium (I think it was 99?) but they blew me away. All We Ever Wanted Was Everything was the definite highlight.

I always liked Love and Rockets better.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

"reunited in 2005 for the Coachella festival"

 Er, what about the 1998 tour?

That tour was amazing. The stage sets were better than 2005.

Which one? 1998, I saw the last show of the German stage manager's in Tokyo. When they did "Hollow Hills," Murphy did his slow dance and as his hand touched the air an incandescent bulb lit up.
The opening song was "Double Date" where Murphy's phase illuminated by a spot light filled a large screen at the center of the stage while he sang off stage and the band played around the monitor.

For the 2005 tour in New York, Murphy had a cumber bun on to hold in his tummy.

For both shows, David J's bass was excessive. Tokyo was a large orchestra hall so it was bearable. The 2005 show was a smaller venue, and the bass was painful.

So the album is duff and Peter Murphy of all people has middle-age spread as well as a Bobby Charlton barnet.

You do have that certain je ne sais quoi with words, Kounelaki.
Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness.

I was traumatized by the sight of Monsieur Murphy trying to make his jacket look like a vampire's cape a couple of years ago. It must have been the horrible flu I had at the time.

I saw some pics of the last tour and was in denial for days. Could not believe that Mr. Chisled face could become Mr Blobby so quickly.
