Francis is also unsurprised to see the new songs getting a mixed reaction. "The fans are emotionally involved in the whole thing," he says. "Even more than us. But we just got into this to make music and see whatever level of success we could reach. We didn't want the day job. We don't want to be managers of warehouses or whatever. We don't want to run a restaurant. This is what to we do, and my solo career is over. I have no interest in making solo records. For me, this is it."

The Bunnymen have a new album coming out. It has a boy band producer and Will has almost no input. It will be better than Ocean Rain.

Jesus, they are really floundering. If Kim Shattuck is replaced by Black Francis' wife I'm done.

Joining the Pixies as touring bassist for the North American, South American and European summer concerts will be Paz Lenchantin (A Perfect Circle, ZWAN, The Entrance Band). “We are really looking forward to playing with her on these dates,” said Lovering. “Working with different bass players is very new for the band, but we’re having a great time doing it.”
