This is a band I pretty much ignored in the 90s aside from the hits like Jeremy. A few years ago I really got into them and I think Black is one of the finest songs ever written

I went to see them a couple of times early nineties and loved it all. Then forgot about them completely until now. They are absolutely great.

And Mr Brian, me too feels that Black is one of the best songs ever written, and I know I'm not the only one.

I loved most of the music here in Seattle in the 80s and early 90s... when Ten and Nevermind hit, then the labels showed up and bands from LA to Wisconsin to Nebraska to Montana moved here to get signed, and what was "home" became a "scene". Totally turned my back on it all for several years and looked back towards the UK for my musical listening pleasure. Over the past few years, I've embraced my city's rich musical heritage, from Ray Charles and Quincy Jones' beginnings to the present. I'm proud PJ are (mostly) from here...

That was about the time Afghan Whigs from Cincinnati got signed. The first non-Seattle SubPop band. Shortly afterward Cincinnati got all this attention trying to find the "new" Seattle or whatever. Even MTV showed up with their cameras at the clubs. That's not how it works folks. And it didn't.
