The Psychedelic Furs were amazing last night. Richard Butler has really taken care of himself, he was bouncing all over the place being very entertaining, voice was excellent! The sax player, Mars Williams has been with them since 1983 more or less and was incredible. He killed it! Tim, Richard's brother was on bass who seemed to enjoy staring into the crowd and miming the lyrics. The drummer, keys and guitar were newer hired guns but filled in nicely. Setlist below was pretty much a bit from every album from 1980-1989. They didn't do anything off their last official album World Outside from 1991. My only complaint about the setlist, and it's a minor one, was to replace House with Until She Comes or add one song from World Outside. I think that's my favorite post "glory days" album. With no new material they could be a lazy greatest hits act and save the obvious songs for the encore, but instead they played those earlier and ended the show with the non-hits President Gas and Forever Now...fantastic.
Alice's House
Pretty In Pink
Only You and I
Imitation of Christ
It Goes On
The Ghost In You
Heaven
Like a Stranger
My Time
Highwire Days
Love My Way
Heartbreak Beat
Encore:
House
President Gas
Forever Now
Good crowd too. If I had to guess I would say 500+ folks ranging form parents bringing their teenagers to a guy that looked like Dick Cheney.
A sharp contrast to our Bunnymen. The show was energetic and everyone in top form. Butler who turns 56 this year could send a few tips to Mac. No one was phoning it in here.
