We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Is there anything left to say about Joy Division? Yes, writes Jon Savage (Observer Music Monthly)

I saw the film and thought that it was great. I wasn't sure of what Corbijn's trademarks were though.

I do think they had integrity!

I'm still not a big fan.

But I'm more of a fan than I was.

Thanks for all the links.

so, is this yet another documentary on Joy Division? In addition to the one that's been making the rounds of film fests for the last year or so? I'm confused!

Tony Wilson is a bit over the top. Actually, everyone is. It is VH-1 Behind the Music and sounds just as stupid as a Poison or Motley Crue documentary.

Is this it? The Grant Gee one?

I think that's the version I saw last year. Fresh interviews, etc.

Here's the synopsis at imdb:

I never thought I'd get to this point but I've taken a JD break because of the over saturation. There was a time when I was buying every release then I was like "do I need to own every live show and every throw-away studio recording?" The sticker on the Heart and Soul box set proclaimed it was all their studio material and $70.00 later there's been God knows how many more releases of super, duper secret never before heard studio recordings.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I got those bootleg years ago. A lot of "pull my finger" and "no Ian we're not kidding, use your real voice this time"

No, it's the Grant Gee documentary, which goes on general release in the UK in May.
