New Interpol

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

New Interpol

Anyone digging it? I really wanted to but not a single track stood out to me after a few listens. I've read reviews where they say it takes repeated listens to get it but I don't like to work for my music.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I'm listening to it now. Up to "Try It On" now, which seems an alrightish song. God, it's a really boring album... I'm so bored, and in reference to your last post on another thread, here's a pic for you of Interpol by a wall. They are not pouting but are trying to look hard or maybe smug for making me feel like slashing my wrists listening to their album tonight.

Now they're just the Editors.

Maybe a bit more melody in Editors judging by this effort. Thing is I have never really been much of a fan of Interpol, but was playing a couple of times and digging Antics in its full entirety earlier today. I'm going to go again to see if I can get it.

The bastards hooked me with "Not Even Jail" and I've been hoping for something half as good ever since. I really like the verses of Slow Hands even though the chorus sucks. They suffer from the same malady as latter day Bunnymen. Either and amazing verse or chorus but almost never both.

I threw out the Editors comparison in a moment of weakness. I apologize. Interpol could never be that bad.

The first single was a big turd - whatever it was - even live it went over like a filet mignon in a vegan restaurant.

Well, a fresh perspective the next morning after listening to it three times last night. It's okay in places, largely the first few tracks, but nothing to shout about. It is supposed to conjour up something or other about assembling skyscrapers isn't it? I thought building motorways was more suitable. Ones eventually featuring long, montomous traffic jams. Luckily, I don't own a copy having listened to it being streamed. Otherwise, it would have been filed in the dull never to be played again folder that would also contain, ironically, Editors' An End Has a Start. Actually, I probably would have thrown it somewhere so I'd forget about it.

I loved their first album, but nothing has stuck with me since. But I did find a few tracks on the new album, I love "Lights".

It's difficult to say who are the shittest - Editors or Interpol. Derivative wank.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Why stop there? You could be Professor Oracle, all you need is a attitude, bro.

Or a corduroy jacket.

That's how I've always imagined GOGPs attire, sitting in his armchair.
