here's an interesting one....

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

here's an interesting one....

well perhaps interesting isn't the word but a new twist on getting the band back together. often done with a new backline (PIL, Wedding Present, insert name of any band you like probably) but now the backline is having its go:

http://www.o2academyoxford.co.uk/event/13827/ex-simple-minds-derek-forbes-and-brian-mcgee--tickets

Billed as

"ex Simple Minds (Derek Forbes & Brian McGee)

Derek Forbes and Brian McGee, former members of Scotland's biggest band, are back performing all the great songs they helped create over three decades ago"

and then "under 14s must be accompanied....", as if there'll be any of them there unless their dad couldn't get a babysitter and the ex wont exhange childcare duties because he asn't paid the maintenance this month. BUt I digress. I suppose Focxton & Buckler did it with 'from the jam', a crappy name if ever there was one, all over now apparently since Foxy & weller are chums again. And why not I suppose. The revenge of the boys in the band.

I noticed that on the O2 Academies' website a couple of weeks ago. The billing is priceless "Ex Simple Minds" followed by their names in case anyone was wondering who the hell they were and then the "songs they helped create".
Purveyor of the 'semi-predictable one-liner (which) embodies the essence of the type of comedic crap we grew to love here. VB is a crazy fool'

There will be that under 14 crowd. There are kids around here in the US who are superkeen on the 80s like the rockabilly kids in the 80s were superkeen on the 50s.
I long for the pork of Porcupine. (A slide show dedicated mostly to Will right here.... http://www.examiner.com/rock-music-in-l ... -here-tour)
