Pitchfork's Top for the 2000's

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

There is a lot of good music out there. Pitchfork seems to have decided to go the way of Rolling Stone magazine and ignore it.

That Top 20 list sucks. Beyonce #4? Arcade Fire #10? BARF. As Jack Black said in Hi-Fidelity "VERY PUSSY!"I can't stand the kind of people that run that website.

Is this what happens when a publicaion attempts to reach the masses? Pitchfork was once the stereogum. then they became bitterly obsessed with their incredible influence on music sales.

And now? Like you said - Following sales as their criteria for good music.

Yeah, I know I run a mag meself, but Pitchfork's turned wank. Once an organisation gets a taste of the big time, its (to borrow a MES phrase) like peasants with free milk...

Music journos are the biggest snobs on the planet

I didn't bother to look if it's anywhere on the list but The Flaming Lips "Do You Realize??" should be in the top ten for best songs of the 2000's. The whole Yoshimi album is brilliant.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
