Jarvis Cocker is a God

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Has that classic Pulp "trashy" feel but sadly is lacking a decent melody. Jarvis Cocker however is still a god.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Bit of a grower, although not as encouraging growth as page 6. Reminds me of Pulp before the height of Britpop fame. Never heard the original demo (don't think it has ever been released) - given it was originally recorded in 2000 prior to the recording of We Love Life, so as Kounelaki noted it's not new as such. Just a re-recording of an old, unreleased song. There's six other songs from that session that were never released. One track, Grandfather's Nursery, I think is on youtubes.

Jarvis Cocker's The Big Melt combines archive film and live music in an alloy of heavy industry, Kes, electronica and sex. He talks here about what steel means to him and to his home city of Sheffield

I remember a pile of them going for practically nothing at my local WH Smith years ago, should have bought them all.

I hope Jarvis brings an extra pair of undies cause someone has tickets to this:

http://cinespia.org/event/pulp/

Pulp, best known for their deliriously infectious anthem “Common People”, are one of the most quintessential Britpop bands. Director Florian Habicht teams up with highly charismatic Pulp frontman – Jarvis Cocker – to produce both a concert film of the band’s 2012 farewell Sheffield show, and a “family album” of hometown locals: the Common People. The show becomes an irresistible party, a celebration of hometown heroes.

Join us for this special evening with the director and Jarvis Cocker in conversation. Presented with FYF, Cinefamily, DKTR and Ace Hotel.
