John Cale

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

I'd love to go to that.

Ordered two for Liverpool this morning. Pre-sale on the See tickets website.

Mixed reviews online for the Liverpool show, but I thought it was brilliant. The weather was fantastic. The format was different guests for different songs with The Velvet Underground and Nico played in full (though not in order) and some additional songs from White Light White Heat. Some songs worked better than others, highlights for me being Waiting for the Man, White Light White Heat and Run Run Run but the absolute standout was Lias Saoudi (Moonlandings / Fat White Family) joining Cale for Heroin, it was immense, Saoudi is a star. A 24-odd minute Sister Ray to send us home, passing armed coppers as we walked along the dock road which felt very strange.
It was a privilege to be there.

Saw Todd Hayne's Velvet Underground documentary at the cinema yesterday. Thought it was great and nice to hear loud music in the company of other people for a change.
