The Obligatory Depeche Mode thread

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Album getting great reviews over here...

...may be this is why -

Fucking great stuff.

Who would have thought back in 1981 DM would still be knocking out songs of this quality when all of their peers have either fallen by the wayside or keep churning out the same old stuff (The Cure for example).

Unlike Mac Dave's voice has grown in stature over time.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

There is only one reason Mac and Will can't make something that good. Laziness.

Wilder was a big part of their sound. Seems like Gore had to go on and stop trying to do with the music what he thought Wilder might have done and do it his own way which means losing the orchestrations.

Good tune. Thanks.

Any gearheads? The equipment in that room is amazing. There is a Moog Moogergooger (I think) just sitting on the table. The mic Gohan is singing into is amazing. And that grand piano -

Gore spent months raiding Ebay for old analogue synths, sequencers before recording Universe

That song is fucking amazing. Shit I haven't been this excited about an album since Siberia. Only difference is I won't sleep through half of Depeche Mode's songs when it's finally released.

And the way their publicity machine runs is also excellent!
I think I'll be going to two shows. Thing is, thre's almost a guarantee of quality on the ticket.

I may not be as funny as Jack but I'm more useful.

In Jack's defense he has lost a lot of weight since that incident in London.

I have also decided not to listen to all the negativity, even though I know very well what certain people here think of me due to certain events that happened under certain other circumstances.
