Slowdive 40 Days

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

I'm sure most everyone here is familiar with this band and song but just in case...cause it really is amazing.

Slowdive-my favourite band from that 'shoegazing'era.Saw them loads of times from the beginning to the end but they always had ten times as many tunes as their so called contempories(ie Ride,Chapterhouse).Dont ever think of them as fey-I saw them at Northampton once and as they came on half the crowd were sat down.Thats until Halstead said "Get up you bunch of c*nts"!.Brilliant ,ear busting loud gig with the phaser/chorus/reverb pedal effects cutting through the air like knives. That was the Souvlaki tour.Rachel Gosforth-fine looking lady as well. They could have been contenders ......Mojave 3 have a lot of merit as well.

Souvlaki is one of my top ten albums ever. Pygmalian took a little while to figure out (except Crazy For You which was immediate). Mojave 3 is amazing but it is a shame they never got (what I considered) their due. Halstead is one of the best songwriters on the planet. And Goswell's vocals are second only to Kim Deals in my opinion.

Wish I woulda seen Slowdive live.
