The Scientists - Last Night

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

No.......at least one of those views was me!

Great band, great song, great clip.
They're from my home town, and I had many a late, drunken night watching them live. It brings back great memories seeing the lovely Ben Juniper (guitar) and the wonderful, wonderful James Baker (drums) in action.
Here's what James looked like when I first met him.......( a la New York Dolls)......

One of my favourites has always been Frantic Romantic.
Here's a pretty bad live recording of it:

Thanks sport for sharing your great taste in music!

Thanks for the background. Finding info about the Scientists has been fairly difficult till recently. Hopefully there'll be a reunion tour hitting the US one day.

Woulda loved to have seen them in the day though.

I envy you.

Funny thing is I don't think any of us realised at the time how good it was. Most Australians suffer from what's known as "cultural cringe", (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_cringe), and Western Australians suffer it most of all (Perth is officially the most isolated capital city in the world!). We all wanted to be in London or New York where the 'real' music was happening.

Weird to now look back on it and see how amazing it really was.

Here's what Ben Juniper is up to now if you're interested:

I love that song. They reformed to some good live reviews. Don't know if they'll make it out our way though.
